I think they're in the top tier of the companies above but I want to do a deeper dive. As you know, raising money is not always a great indicator of successful results.
Yes and no, I'm going to reorder the list - for starters, Giant.ai shut down, so they're out. Secondly Beonmi reckons they aren't Hollywood but have general distribution plans. I want to have a look more closely and see what the likelihood of them are. And yes, Atlas is not a general purpose humanoid, but a research robot... perhaps even a Hollywood robot given the number of video appearances!
Adding a new humanoid to the list - Prosper Robotics are exhbiting Alfie at ICRA 2023 and they're aiming at a <$5000 household humanoid! Going to be hard to beat :)
I'm going to update the post - add new post with more details this weekend - I've got a few new entrants to add. So far I had been most impressed by Agility, Apptronik, 1x and Figure but the devil is in the details.

Might not Ameca and Atlas be considered Hollywood (Ameca) or research (Atlas and Ameca) bots? Or do they have release plans and prices?
Andra,
I'm curious to get your thoughts on the Figure01. I believe they have just raised $70M.
Thanks!
