Do you know what 'choreorobotics' is, or where to find it?
Stanford Robotics Center will open on November 2 and includes a dance studio for choreorobotics, with Catie Cuan in residence. It also will include a pool for Oussama Khatib’s OceanOne robot, and brings together more than 30 unique robotics labs across the university.

Of course the market has had a down turn since then on the jobs figures and recession fears, but you really want to listen to the mega keynote and not just for the jacket swap.

Robotics Investment
On the new episode of 🎙Out of the Box together with Pia Mangold I had a great conversation with Fady Saad from Cybernetix Ventures on robotics as an investment class and robotics ecosystems.
Coming a bit from a single-sided view here in Norway, where we see many VCs mainly focusing on SaaS investments, it was refreshing to hear Fady's take on the motivations that make robotics an interesting area to invest in: Robotics is sticky - once you decide to go for a certain robotics solution, you will be with that vendor for at least 10 years or so. Robotics providers have a huge potential in their installed base of customers through upsell opportunities, be it spare parts or add-on services. 🤖
Thank you Fady for a fantastic conversation!

As the fundraising environment has been less approachable the ability to raise capital for venture funds has certainly been more difficult. I've described it before as an "income inequality effect" in both venture and startups. The companies and funds raising the most capital continue to suck up a huge chunk of the attention, while the rest get less and less.
