Stacking up the exponentials in robotics
Robotics investment has increased 3 orders of magnitude since 2011
$34 Billion in robotics fundraising in 2025 and already 2026 is looking to double down with Waymo announcing a $16B raise.
Moore’s Law might be the poster child of exponential tech growth but it’s a simple proposition - how many transistors can you fit on a chip. As that computation power has grown and size has reduced, we’ve seen the impact stacked particularly in a complex technology like robotics, as computation enables better sensors, better simulation, better algorithms, and altogether, progress that once took decades is now taking days. Of course there are still very physical roadblocks in actuation and power technology.
Here’s a quick breakdown of year by year global robotics funding and companies.
