Autonomous truck startup TuSimple went public in April raising $1.08 Billion. TuSimple said it has 5,700 reservations for self-driving trucks from Navistar that are scheduled to go into production in 2024, with 70 trucks already on the road in the U.S. and China.
Vicarious Surgical and Sarcos Robotics (exoskeletons) are both going public via SPACs or Special Purpose Acquisition Companies for $1.1B and $496M respectively. Lyft offloaded it's self-driving vehicle group to Toyota for $550M and Root.AI (a very interesting agrobotics startup) was acquired by AppHarvest for $60M.
Plus One raised a $33m Series B, Canvas (soft robots for construction) raised $24m Series B, Oxbotica in the UK raised $13.7m and EasyMile in France raised $66,7m, while CloudMinds in US/China raised $152m.
Multiply Labs, Rapid Robotics and Tortuga AgTech all raised Series A rounds. Halodi Robotics, Hermes Robotics and Ottonomy raised an undisclosed round, while some other Seed rounds included: Pickle Robot, MightyFly, Robomart, DroneSeed and Liftians.
