The LSDR is a new resource for analysis of labor force dynamics and other employment topics. In 2015, U.S.-trained doctoral scientists and engineers under age 66 participated in the labor force worldwide at a rate of 96%, which declined to 92% by 2019.The U.S. research and development system consists of activities from a range of R&D performers and sources of funding. These include the federal government, nonfederal governments, business, higher education institutions, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses. Organizations that perform R&D often receive significant levels of outside funding, and organizations that fund R&D may also themselves be performers. New data from surveys performed by the National Center for Science and Engineering Statistics within the National Science Foundation indicate that R&D performed in the United States totaled $67 billion in 2019. The estimate for 2020 is $708 billion.MassRobotics, a robotics innovation organization, has issued a call for nominations for The Robotics Medal, a new annual award presented to a female researcher for substantial achievements and contributions in the field of robotics."Imagine an all-electric drone with zero emissions and no noise. It could venture anywhere — practically undetected — and be used for a variety of applications from search and rescue to military operations. That vision is now here, and it runs on ion propulsion." Welcome to the first academic-driven robotics community on sustainability! We organize events, publish collaborative reports and curate resources to support robotics experts since the end of 2021.PreviousNext
