Silicon Valley Robotics startup accelerator program at Circuit Launch presents a session on inclusive hiring for early stage startups with Andra Keay, founder of Women in Robotics, ally of Black in Robotics and Managing Director of Silicon Valley Robotics.
Recruiting is harder than fundraising because you are competing head to head with Google, Apple, Amazon, Facebook etc. AND all the other cool robotics startups out there. A diverse hiring pipeline is a huge advantage for you, but very hard to achieve. Your first few hires create your ongoing startup culture, and the temptation is to pick people you know (or know of) which is how you spiral into increasing diversity debt.
WORKSHOP. Bring examples of your job listings, your recruitment pipeline, interview and selection process, your procedures re pay and benefits, your website, your culture and any info re retention or ongoing workplace issues you are experiencing.
